Amy studied at the University of Sunderland where she gained a first-class law degree. Amy also completed a Masters degree and the Legal Practice Course at the University of Sunderland.

From there, Amy gained over 4 years’ experience as a Paralegal in the children and safeguarding department of a large Newcastle based practice, whilst at the same time embarking upon her CILEX qualification and qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive before cross-qualifying as a Solicitor in February 2022.

As a Solicitor in the Family team here at Richard Reed, Amy primarily represents parents and other family members in proceedings before the Family Court, including care proceedings, private children applications, domestic abuse matters and special guardianship advice. Amy acts for clients both on a legally aided and private paying basis.

Outside of work, Amy spends quite a lot of her spare time raising money for vulnerable children and young people across the North-East through the charitable organisation United for Children North-East. Amy together with a group of local solicitors, barristers and judges continue to focus on raising money to support projects which directly benefit young people across the region, working with agencies and charities who support those most in financial need and crisis.

In her actual spare time, Amy likes spending quality time with her family, friends and dog (Millie) as well as jumping on a plane at any available opportunity.
