Alex Howarth

Alex is a solicitor in Richard Reed’s Dispute Resolution Team.

Alex grew up in Sunderland and graduated from Newcastle University in 2015 and undertook his LPC at Northumbria University before working as a clinical negligence paralegal for several years before obtaining a training contract and qualifying as a solicitor in 2021.

Since qualification, Alex has acted for both private and commercial clients on a wide range of contentious matters in areas including Insolvency, Debt Recovery, contractual disputes, Consumer Rights Act claims, Property Litigation, Landlord & Tenant disputes.

Alex also has an interest in Sports Law and in 2026 successfully passed the FIFA Football Agent exam, which covers FIFA regulations and the global football transfer system.

Alex joined Richard Reed Solicitors in June 2026 and works within our Dispute Resolution team alongside Director Phil Moir, Associate Kat Moody and Solicitor Lewis Cassap.

Outside of work, Alex’s interests include football (a Sunderland AFC season ticket holder), cricket, cycling, running, Formula 1 and attending live music.
