Tell us about you…
I graduated from Northumbria University in summer 2018 with an MLaw Exempting degree and started at Richard Reed shortly after this. Initially my role was as a paralegal within the family department and I started my training contract in this department in January 2019. Working within the department has allowed me to be certain that I wanted a career in family law and to commence this with Richard Reed was a fantastic opportunity.
Why Richard Reed?
I was very fortunate to get the family paralegal role at Richard Reed so soon after graduating. I have benefitted from working with very friendly and knowledgeable colleagues who have been extremely supportive, this has enabled me to grow and learn very quickly. I always knew I wanted to work in a firm where everyone matters and I have really benefited from one to one training with experienced solicitors.
What area do you wish to specialise in?
I am looking forward to experiencing new areas of law within my training at Richard Reed. Throughout my degree I touched upon a variety of different practice areas, however I always found the modules relating to family and children law the most interesting. This led to me completing my dissertation in family law on the subject of adoption. The paralegal job within the family department at Richard Reed therefore was a perfect fit. Throughout my time at Richard Reed my passion for family law has grown, specifically I enjoy working on child care cases at the early intervention stage. I hope that at the end of my training contract I will qualify as a family solictor working on care proceedings cases. I look forward to continuing to provide an excellent service to all our clients at Richard Reed.
