A Mighty Challenge for an Incredible Cause

The Richard Reed team go on an unforgettable journey for Macmillan Cancer Support.

On Saturday 14th September, the Richard Reed team embarked on the Macmillan Cancer Support Mighty Hike.

We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, the Richard Reed team raised an outstanding £4,632 for Macmillan Cancer Support! The outpouring of support we received from family, friends, colleagues, and the community was heartwarming. Knowing that this money will go directly to helping people affected by cancer made every blister, ache, and sore muscle worth it.

This wasn’t just any hike, it was a monumental 26-mile trek from Alnwick to Bamburgh. As a team, we laced up our boots, took in the fresh morning air, and set off on a journey that tested our limits, but also filled us with pride.

The Mighty Hike is known for pushing participants both physically and mentally. It’s not simply a walk in the park, the trail weaves through some of the most beautiful but demanding landscapes in North East.

Macmillan Cancer Support holds a special place in the hearts of many. Their tireless work in supporting those affected by cancer is nothing short of extraordinary. For us, this hike was about more than just completing a personal challenge, it was about giving back and making a tangible impact. Knowing that every pound raised would help Macmillan provide essential care and services to cancer patients and their families kept our motivation high, even in the toughest moments.

We’d be remiss not to mention the incredible support we received from the Macmillan team and event organisers. From start to finish, they were there to cheer us on, provide guidance, and ensure everything ran smoothly. Their dedication to the cause, along with their logistical expertise, was truly inspiring. They reminded us every step of the way that this was more than just a hike, it was a mission to support individuals and families facing the challenges of cancer.

Reflecting on the day, we are left with an overwhelming sense of pride. This hike was no easy task, but the experience was life-changing. It taught us the power of resilience, the strength of teamwork, and the impact we can have when we come together for a common cause. The memories we made and the sense of accomplishment will stay with us for a long time.

To everyone who supported us, either through donations or words of encouragement, we extend our heartfelt thanks. And to the incredible people at Macmillan Cancer Support, thank you for the work you do every day. You inspire us, and we are honoured to have been able to contribute to your cause.
